I went to bed at a reasonable hour last night and woke up at 6:30 this morning, and was pleasantly surprised by how light it was. I know that I'm not going to be so happy walking home in the dark for the next 3 months though.

Comic strips are my daily dose of humor to keep me sane. I've been doing a lot of reading, but not ready to post about the books that I've read recently because they have been in the self help category and helping me understand events that helped shape me, but I am still formulating in my head what and how much I am going to share in regards to that.

My friends Liz and Steve who both used to work for the same company as I until earlier this year, have turned me on to some good books. I just finished reading "Boundaries; Where You End and I Begin" which I think pretty much everyone could benefit from reading. I started "Man's Search for Meaning" this past week and it has also been very thought provoking.

Two weeks ago I finally finished "Motherless Daughters" and that really dredged up some stuff.But that was a good thing, because it helped me to see some of the baggage I've been carrying around for the last almost 30 years since my mom died.

We had another beautiful day today,  tomorrow is supposed to be just as nice,  but rain is in the forecast for the rest of the week.  Bummer.

I am not on Instagram, but one day on LOL Cats there was a picture from the Instagram account of someone in Japan that I bookmarked on my computer and will check out once a week. They have a dog and tiger cat and a foster kittens. This picture really made me smile this morning.

We are still working lots of overtime at work, for me I'm doing about 54 hours, some of the seasonals are doing 12 hour days which I cannot go more than 10 hours myself. But I am looking forward to it slowing down so I can at least have a 2 day weekend soon. Here are a few of the comics that helped make me laugh and keep me sane this week.

Snow!

They were originally predicting snow mixed with rain for today, then the forecast was for it to start snowing in the middle of the night last night. Well it sure did, but it's noon and it's still snowing! I've still got packages to mail, so this is a little kink in my plans, but I'm going to keep my fingers crossed that everything comes out fine.

I love these cartoons; Get Fuzzy especially.

Our weekend is going to be a wet and windy one, it has of course already started. I was able to let the cats out earlier during a brief break in the weather, that did not last long. It's hard for them to adjust to not getting to go out all day on the weekends when I'm home, but the weather is crappy, and that's the way it is.

Saturday is my day for household chores including laundry. Munchkin decided to get in the middle of me making the bed......

March is coming in like a lion here, so I'm hoping it will go out like a lamb and we will transition in to a early spring. Very wet this afternoon, and as usual I am falling behind in what I need to get done....

I have noticed that the trees and shrubs are starting to get leaf buds. My Rose in the back yard is really leafing out as of this week and the Day Lilies are really starting to get tall after it has warmed up after the last freeze. And my Hydrangea is starting to leaf out as well.

Christmas Cactus - Sunday, March 3rd

I'm going to start my Sweet Peas inside very soon, and have already shifted one of my Geraniums that I winter indoors to the front porch to get acclimated.

And my red Christmas Cactus is blooming and budding right now and the larger pink one has just started to bud. The Christmas Cactus I got started for my supervisor Kelly at work was blooming before mine. She is so excited that she hasn't killed it, I'm happy for her that it is blooming twice like mine♥

Bits & Pieces

I added a few new links today; a video of the Michigan Central Station, and in my Favorite Websites section I added the link to the homepage of 'Talk To The Station'. The owner is getting feedback directly from the public on how to try and plot the future of the former train station. I truly hope that it is saved and brought to it's former glory, it is a beautiful building, take a look at the archival photographs. The new photos are pretty cool too. The first time I saw it was in the television show 'Detroit 1-8-7'.

Below are my favorite comics from yesterday. The timing of this Non Sequitur could not be more appropriate. What has really cracked me up about the current GOP race, is that everyone is saying the nastiest things about each other in their ads or during the debates. Then when they drop out, they turned around and endorse an opponent they were previously trashing. Is it that politics makes strange bedfellows, or  hypocrites of them all?
