Dan Margulis created this social experiment to bring attention to the issue of immigration by going back to the past when Irish were treated like a plague on America. Unfortunately the people that really need to have their eyes opened, will just sneer at this.

I hope everyone had a good Christmas today. It was quiet at my house, and sadly, we didn't get any snow, it all hit down south of us in Seattle. I have been meaning to post this Vimeo video that was on Colossal.com on December 5th, but have been so busy getting ready for the holiday's that I didn't have time to get on the computer until today. I love the Great Pacific Northwest, but I really, really miss the thunderstorms of the Midwest. Growing up in Michigan, it was one of the best parts of summer, except for when the cable would go out as a result! Chad is on Instagram, and I just started following him, because I don't want to miss out on anything new.

Sit Stay Ride: Official Trailer

This was on I Can Has a Hotdog today. It's the trailer for a movie about 18 or so motorcyclists and their canine companions that ride in their sidecars. The filmmakers are a husband & wife team; Eric and Geneva Ristau. The story said that the movie was funded by a Kickstarter campaign and is available on DVD and Vimeo on Demand with a portion of the proceeds going to the Humane Society.

Saw this last night on Colossal.com - Irma from Cameroon with her song "Save Me" from the album Faces. She has a nice voice, it is just a pleasure to the ears and visually, very cool, enjoy!

This was posted on Colossal.com yesterday and is of a light projection art project, exhibit, whatever you want to call it in Germany. The space is a re-purposed gas storage facility. The video is a conversation with the artists as well as part of the show itself. There is also a little bit of footage from a previous project at the Sydney Opera House in Australia.

Kelpies Time-lapse: Andy Scott’s Steel Sculptures In Scotland

I think that I featured these here before, but there was another posting on Colossal.com Thursday of some still pictures along with this video. The colors change with the sky and their pretty cool.

The sculptor is Andy Scott and the construction actually ended in November 2013. They are along the Forth & Clyde canal in Falkirk, Scotland. They dominate the local landscape and are officially opening to the public this month on the 21st.

This 'n That

First Sweet Pea bloom of 2013

I had been so excited earlier this spring thinking that I was going to end up with a big beautiful pot of Sweet Peas this year because I started early and my starts were off to well, a good start (pardon the pun).

Then it was such a cold spring again that just when it finally started to warm up and get pretty, I discovered that the squirrels had been digging in the pot. Well, I still didn't give up, and I kept watering them and today was finally rewarded with my first bloom ♥

I saw a feature article on the chalk artist Peter Han on the (new to me) website Colossal, and his work is beautiful, this Vimeo short was embedded with the article. Enjoy!
